What is Prosthodontics?

Prosthodontics is a branch of dentistry used to repair missing or damaged teeth, restore their function and provide an aesthetic appearance. These treatment options include various methods such as dentures, implants, crowns, bridges and porcelain laminates.

Dentures

Dentures are artificial teeth used to replace missing teeth or groups of teeth. Dentures can be completely removable or fixed. Complete dentures are used in cases where all teeth are lost, while partial dentures are used when only a few teeth are missing.

Implants

Implants are artificial tooth roots placed inside the jawbone and used to support one or more teeth. Implants integrate with the bone tissue similar to natural teeth, providing a durable foundation.

Crowns

Crowns are artificial tooth coverings used to repair damaged or decayed teeth. Crowns are placed over the tooth and provide both structural support and an aesthetic appearance.

Bridges

Bridges are artificial tooth coverings used when one or more teeth are missing. Bridges are attached to the surrounding teeth and fill the space left by the missing tooth.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain coatings attached to the front surface of a tooth. These coatings change the color, shape, and size of the teeth, providing an aesthetic appearance.

Prosthodontic treatment offers a functional and aesthetic solution in cases of tooth loss or damage. These treatment options are selected according to the individual's needs and condition. The dentist assesses the patient's oral health condition and recommends the most appropriate treatment plan.
